Springfield, MO Lucas Oil Indoor Winter nationals Round 2

Jody Hegwood & the 5xxx team raced both Friday and Saturday at the Lucas Oil Indoor Winter nationals. The first night started off good by drawing a number one to put us on the pole for the first heat race. Had the first heat race won by more than a straightaway until the white flag when the 5xxx spun going into turn one. Had to run the B-main and started 1st and would end up transferring into the a-main by finishing 2nd. In the A-main we started 10th and would finish 8th place. Saturday night started off by drawing a 17 and had to start mid pack for the first heat race. Tragedy struck the 5xxx team this race when on the start we got collected in a front stretch mess and flipped 3 times. The kart was still race able and rolled over and went at it again. Then about 5 laps to go we got put into the wall and flipped 4 more times. The night would be over for the 5xxx team. Overall it was a good weekend with a learning curve.
